Revealed: Overwhelming majority of Celtic fans want to sign Timothy Castagne

According to results from our recent poll, the overwhelming majority of Celtic fans would love to sign Atalanta’s Timothy Castagne as a replacement for Mikael Lustig.

The Daily Record reported last week that the Parkhead outfit are set to launch a £6m move for the tough-tackler in their quest to find a successor to the waning Lustig, whose contract expires in the summer.

The versatile 23-year-old is unhappy with the lack of chances afforded to him by Gian Piero Gasperini this season and is hoping to secure a move away that would enable him to turn his Belgian Red Devils breakthrough into an extended run.

Winning just his first full international cap in a 4-0 thumping of Scotland a few months ago, the tough-tackler was immense as he dominated Liverpool’s Andrew Robertson – some feat.
